★ Integrated Human Practice★
In order to solve the serious problems caused by formaldehyde, our human practice activities not only carried out basic activities such as questionnaire survey, enterprise interviews, research and publicity, but also designed experiments, which promoted the working process of the experimental group this year. Through our preliminary investigation and experiment, the indicator group and the optical control group in our experimental circuit are produced. Our primary school demonstration PPT is lively and interesting. The demonstration will add modern flash function, bring a fresh experience to the public, and let them know our project and IGEM more interestingly. In particular, we hand-painted a set of commentary project line poker cards, and produced a simple and interesting interactive video, so that you can more intuitively experience our project, understand the meaning of igem.

This year, we have designed a set of cute poker cards with project pathway and overall parts, as well as an innovative and interesting interactive video, through which the public can personally experience the great significance of our project and iGEM. Our questionnaire involves people of different ages and occupations near the community, and in order to let them have a better understanding of formaldehyde, we made knowledge cards. We went to not only furniture factories, but also to aldehyde companies, decoration companies for interviews and researchWe also interviewed professional teachers and professors for advice. We introduced synthetic biology to the children and gave iGEM lectures in our school. This year, we have designed a set of cute poker cards with project pathway and overall parts, as well as an innovative and interesting interactive video, through which the public can personally experience the great significance of our project and iGEM.

Our project is to synthesize engineered bacteria capable of degrading indoor formaldehyde. We hope that the engineered bacteria can display two different colors to indicate whether the concentration of formaldehyde is safe or not, and finally crack under light. In the model, we make the metabolic, indicative and illumination system into three modules, and then connect the three modules with each other. The metabolic module is the most important part, which is mainly used for the enzymatic kinetics equation of the interaction of the sequential reaction equation and other substrates; and the indicator module is closely linked to it.

★ Hardware ★
Our device adds a subsidiary structure of gas concentrator, which can separate bacteria from the external environment. With the gas concentrator, not only the formaldehyde in the air can be enriched, but also the change of ventilation can be observed. At the same time, our bacteria emit substances to change the color of the medium with the change of formaldehyde concentration, which can be seen in a transparent concentrator. To solve the problem that bacteria can't see light, we only need to add filters on both sides of the container of bacteria, so bacteria will not enter the concentrator, and will not directly contact with the external environment. Advantages of this concentrator: 1. Greatly improved gas absorption efficiency 2. The change of pigment can be observed 3. Solving the problem of bacterial light-dead characteristics, bacteria can maintain high safety and work normally.
